Rainwater filter
Reliable and low-maintenance

Rainwater filters are essential for good water quality in rainwater barrels and cisterns. WISY has rainwater filters for all areas of application: for the downpipe, for installation in the ground, in the rainwater tank or as a free-standing version.

What does a
rainwater filter do?

A filter for rainwater removes coarse and fine impurities such as leaves, sand or pollen from the rainwater before it enters a cistern or rain barrel. This improves the water quality and protects downstream components such as pumps, pipes and consumers from damage and deposits.

The rainwater filter
is indispensable

The rainwater filter is the first and most important cleaning stage of the four-stage cleaning system for rainwater. It fulfils the most important function when collecting rainwater. Only if a rainwater filter removes organic components in the first stage can the rainwater remain permanently storable.

If the filtered rainwater is pumped from an underground cistern, the three further purification stages with inlet calming, floating extraction and overflow siphon should also be used in any case. Only if the irrigation water is taken exclusively from the water butt using a watering can can the rainwater filter remain the only purification stage.

Rainwater filter system
Overview of purification stages:

  1. Rainwater filter: Removes everything from 0.28 mm in the inlet
  2. Calmed inlet: Prevents even finer sediments from being whirled up
  3. Floating intake filter: Extracts water in the clearest area
  4. Overflow siphon with skim effect: Regularly removes the light floating layer

All components of the four-stage rainwater purification system should be used to protect pumps and irrigation systems.

Discover the advantages
Rainwater filter from WISY

High cleaning performance: All WISY rainwater filters - whether downpipe, cistern or vortex fine filters - rely on the vertical filter mesh.

Robust and efficient
Rainwater filter

The rainwater is efficiently cleaned by a fine stainless steel mesh. The available mesh size of the filter fabric starts at 0.1 mm (100 µm) for industrial requirements. We use 0.28 mm mesh size as standard for our rainwater filters.

This reliably separates leaves, moss and smaller particles that are carried along, permanently flushes them down the filter fabric and then transports them into the sewer or an infiltration trough.

Low maintenance
despite fine mesh size

Thanks to the vertical arrangement of the filter mesh, no dirt can remain on the fine stainless steel meshes and block them. This results in long maintenance intervals for the filter and cistern. The water in the cistern remains clean in the long term.

Long intervals
and easy to clean

All WISY rainwater filters are particularly low-maintenance. An inspection twice a year is sufficient. The filter insert can simply be removed from the housing and cleaned in the dishwasher. Cistern cleaning is only necessary after 15 years at the earliest.

As the filter insert is made entirely of high-quality stainless steel, it is extremely durable and only needs to be replaced after 20-25 years at the earliest, if at all. The housing of each filter is also made of particularly durable material.

Safety
in the rainwater filter

The open cross-section of the connected pipes is maintained throughout the entire rainwater filter. This means that even larger solids can pass through unhindered. Even a tennis ball flushed from the roof cannot cause a blockage in the rainwater downpipe, as the rainwater filter does not constrict.

A comparison of filter solutions
From the roof to the cistern

Whether as a leaf filter in the downpipe, standpipe filter with outlet in the ground, as a pre-filter in front of the cistern or as a cistern filter in the cistern - WISY offers the right solution for every installation situation:

Downpipe filter
Filtration directly in the downpipe

Downpipe filtersare ideal as leaf filters in the downpipe for the rain barrel or above-ground containers. Rain barrel filters are easy to retrofit because they can be integrated directly. Thanks to WISY's self-cleaning effect, they are superior to any conventional gutter filter from which leaves have to be regularly removed by hand.

Extremely low maintenance Automatic dirt ejection Fine filtration with 0.28 mm or 0.44 mm mesh size Housing made of stainless steel, copper or UV-resistant plastic

Standpipe filter
Rain filter integrated in the standpipe

Standpipe with rainwater filter Up to 200 m² roof area Fine filtration with 0.28 mm mesh size Made entirely of stainless steel Extremely low maintenance Automatic dirt ejection

The STFS standpipe filter collector, made entirely of stainless steel, combines the downpipe filter with the standpipe. The rainwater outlet to the cistern is concealed in the ground and yet is connected to the cistern to prevent backflow. Its filter insert is made of fine stainless steel mesh with a mesh size of just 0.28 mm. Leaves, moss and other debris is reliably separated and flushed down the drain.

Vortex fine filter
Self-cleaning rainwater filter

The vortex fine filter is the original with the vertical rainwater sieve. The self-cleaning rainwater filter is for installation in front of the cistern. Either in the ground or for free-standing installation. The models are available for pipes with an outer diameter of 110 mm (DN 110) to 315 mm (DN 315) and can be extended and combined with each other. For special requirements as a water filter for rainwater or industrial filters, the vortex fine filter is also available with a stainless steel housing.

Pre-filter for the cistern Extremely low maintenance For installation in the ground or free-standing Pipes DN 110 to DN 315 Can be walked or driven over Housing made of polypropylene or stainless steel
