Suction filter
for water from wells, cisterns or open waters
Suction filters effectively protect pumps and irrigation systems from contamination and allow water to be drawn safely from wells, rainwater cisterns or open bodies of water such as ponds, lakes and rivers.

Advantages of the
WISY intake filters
Every rainwater unit and every garden pump is better protected against wear with filters from WISY! Whether submersible pump or suction pump.

Large filter surface
Low flow resistance
The large filter surface of the floating suction filters has only a low flow resistance and therefore ensures that the pump can maximise its performance.
Robust material
Precisely processed
WISY suction filters are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The cleanly processed strainer reliably prevents particles from entering the pump and downstream consumption points such as irrigation systems.

Fine or coarse filtration
the intake filter for water
All intake filters have a stabilised stainless steel mesh.
Fine and coarse filters are available depending on the intended use:
Coarse intake filter:
1.2 mm mesh size
Mesh size optimised for pre-filtered water, e.g. from cisterns.
Intake fine filter:
0.3 mm mesh size
Ideal as a suction filter from wells or open bodies of water such as rivers and ponds.
Floating extraction
from the cistern
Floating suction filters ensure that only the cleanest water is extracted from the cistern. The floating body moves the suction point flexibly up and down with the water level. As a result, the water is extracted from the cleanest area of the cistern at the optimum depth.
How it works:
without sediments and
without sucking in pollen
Neither deposited sediments from the soil layer nor greasy and light particles such as pollen from the water surface are sucked in. Light dirt regularly flows via the cistern overflow into the sewer or into an infiltration shaft.
The filtered water is channelled to the pump through a flexible hose.
Floating extraction from cisterns offers long-term protection for pump systems and is a useful component of any rainwater utilisation system. The floating extraction is part of the 4-stage cleaning system for rainwater utilisation systems.

A grommet
that protects the hose
The rounded, hose-protecting grommet with its additional bead ensures long-lasting function and secure hold of the hose, even with frequent up and down movement. All floating suction filters are optionally available with an integrated non-return valve.

For submersible pumps:
Suction filter WITHOUT non-return valve
Submersible pumps are placed at the lowest point in the cistern. Even when the pump switches off, the suction hose forms a natural gradient from the suction filter to the pump. The hose cannot run dry, so no non-return valve is required.
For suction pumps:
Suction filter WITH non-return valve
Models equipped with non-return valves prevent the water from flowing back into the cistern. They keep the water column in the suction hose, even if the water is fed to the pump from the bottom upwards. A non-return valve protects the pump from running dry and is therefore essential for the continuous and reliable operation of a suction pump.

Floating suction filter set
with highly flexible suction hose
For easy installation, WISY offers the floating suction filter as a set together with a highly flexible suction hose. In addition to the suction filter with non-return valve, the set also includes a stainless steel hose clamp and the connection piece for a PE pipe for combination with a suction pump. All suction filter sets are available with a coarse or fine mesh size. They are suitable for collecting water from open waters as well as from cisterns.
Floating suction filters
for water in large systems
Floating suction filters with a filter surface area of up to 1,100 cm² are available for large systems, allowing even high flow rates to be extracted.
Water withdrawal
with 2-inch connection
Thanks to the floating design, the suction point remains flexible and adapts to the water level, ensuring that the water is always drawn from the cleanest area.
The robust stainless steel suction filters with a connection diameter of up to 2 inches ensure efficient and safe water extraction. In the fine-mesh version, the intake filters are reinforced with additional struts to withstand the volume flow of large pumps.
The connection nozzle of the large floating suction filters is connected separately to the filter body via a threaded connection. They are optionally available with a non-return valve (= backflow preventer) so that the water column does not have to be built up again every time the pump is started.
Permanently mounted
suction filter
If there is little bottom sediment or if a flexible feed to the pump is not desired, a permanently mounted suction filter can be used. Fixed intake filters from WISY are available in fine or coarse mesh sizes and are connected directly to the submersible pump.

Conclusion
Summary
WISY suction filters offer a reliable solution for the safe extraction of water from wells, cisterns or open bodies of water. With high-quality materials, fine or coarse filtration and floating extraction, they effectively protect pump systems from contamination and wear. This ensures optimum water quality and a long service life for the entire system.
