The floating coarse suction filter is suitable for sucking in water that has not been pre-cleaned, for example from open waters or wells. WISY floating filters are available as fine filters (0.3 mm mesh size) or as coarse filters (1.2 mm mesh size). Versions with a non-return valve for suction pumps or without a non-return valve for underwater pressure pumps are also available.
The optionally integrated non-return valve prevents the hose from running dry when connected to a suction pump. The floating ball is made of environmentally compatible polyethylene, while all other parts are made of stainless steel .
The grommets on the floating filters are rounded to protect the hose. Even with frequent up and down movement of the floating ball in the rainwater storage tank, the hose remains permanently fully functional. The grommets also have a bead to securely fasten the hose.
Note: Flex hose can only be used with suction pumps that are controlled by an automatic switch with non-return valve ! Expansion vessels only with pressure switch are not suitable!

Floating intake filters
The float allows the suction point to rise and fall with the water level. This draws the water from the cleanest area of the cistern. Greasy and light debris collects on the surface of the water, where it regularly drains away via the overflow. Sand and heavy particles collect in the bottom sediment.
The large surface area of the floating intake filters has only a low flow resistance and thus ensures that the pump's performance can be fully developed . The rounded, hose-protecting spout with its additional bead ensures permanent function and secure hold of the hose even with frequent up and down movement.
Coarse or fine filtration
All intake filters have a stabilised filter mesh made of stainless steel. A choice can be made between coarse or fine mesh size.
- Fine filters (0.3 mm mesh size) are used for direct water extraction from open waters such as rivers, ponds or wells.
- Coarse filters (1.2 mm mesh size) are suitable for pre-filtered water from cisterns, rainwater storage tanks and other closed containers.
The use of intake filters significantly increases the operational reliability of the system. The filters prevent dirt particles and impurities from entering the pump, which significantly reduces wear on the pump and clogging of the valves.
Fixed intake filters for submersible pumps
Fixed intake filters are connected directly to the submersible pump without a connecting hose and floating ball. They are available with coarse or fine filter mesh.
Intake filters for large systems
WISY's floating intake filters are available for large systems with up to 2" connection. They offer an efficient solution for optimising water treatment. Their simple design allows easy installation and maintenance for smooth plant operation .
The intake filters with large connection cross-section are reinforced with additional struts to withstand the volume flow of large pumps. Therefore, they are ideal for applications in large plants and industrial processes.
Check valve for suction pumps
The connection nozzle of the floating suction filters is available with an optional non-return valve (=backflow preventer). When using a suction pump , it ensures that a water column always remains in the hose and does not have to build up again every time the pump is started.
Selected suction filters are also available as a set with hose and connection for the submersible pump or PE pipe.
