The adapter plug is plugged into a wall socket. Depending on the switch position of the float switch, through the connected cable, the electric connection is passed to the socket in the adapter plug itself. A device plugged into this socket of the adapter plug, e.g. pump, solenoid valve, alarm transmitter, etc., is thus switched on or off.
